The Gala, Tottenham Court Road held their first BJ tournament this evening. They hope to introduce them monthly, but there is no date set for the next one. There are a few differences from the Queensway format, in particular 2:1 BJs. If there had been lots of entries, the plan had been for seven per table, one advances, with rebuys available. But only eight people had signed up by the time it started, and they decided to have no rebuys and go straight into a two-from-four, semi-final round. Hopefully there will be more in interest in future, and they won't decide to abandon the idea of holding tournaments. Entry cost £50 and the prize pool was - 1st: 60% of the entry money, plus £1000 in Fortune Points. 2nd: 30%, plus £500 in points. 3rd: 10%, plus £250 in points. I came third, yet again. I think I would find a way to finish third if there were only two entries!
