Can anyone who has played in this tourny before provide a synopsis of the major rules...ie: elimination, number advance, surrender, rebuys, etc ? Thanks
Golden Nugget tournament Tournament will be elimination. Unfortunately this being one of their $50,000 tournaments, there will probably only be one advance. Everyone will have a chance at one rebuy. There is no surrender or double after split. It will have a large field and for locals is a good tournament, but with only one advance not particularly worth traveling for.
What's the EV? How many entries and rebuys? Are the total entry and reentry fees less than the $50,000 prize fund? What about wild cards to subsequent rounds? How many rounds to get to final table? ..........................BlueLight
Format When I have played this tournament, format is usually something like first round, 1 of 6 advance; second round 1 of 5 advance; third round 1 of 4 advance to final table. Always one wild card to final table. Almost always wild cards into second round, maybe as many as a dozen or so. Very nicely run tournament.
Golden Nugget The times I have played, they advance 2 from the 2nd round, plus lots of wild cards. Usually the entry fees do not cover the prize fund. They are looking for side play. The total advertized prize fund has always been guaranteed as advertised regardless of number of entries received. I would say that they will get about 225 - 250 entries which includes the rebuys. Depends where you are traveling from. We go down from Vegas. There is plenty to do to keep you busy. This is an excellent tournament and I highly recommend it even if you are traveling from San Diego or Phoenix.
askdick, it sounds like you may be talking about a GN Laughlin tournament. This thread is about the LV Nugget.
