BJTUSA.com is a great way to check out a calendar with tournament dates easily, the rules and details are usually obtained so we know going in what it will be like. It is now my go to and the hard work Pitchman is putting into getting new tournaments going is wonderful! I encourage anyone not on there to join, update Pitchman with any info you have on tournaments! The forums are the biggest thing we missed that have gone quiet from blackjacktournaments.com so this is great!
Thanks Lakegirl32 & Billy...... We deeply appreciate the support of our community of folks like you. It fuels our efforts and lead us toward our goal of serving both players and the casino properties that support Competition Blackjack Tournaments!
I signed up at BJTUSA recently and just received my first newsletter containing live tournament listings. Some (like Kewadin) are close enough for me to consider attending at some point. I look forward to future issues. Great job!
I will add that I haven't played any live tournaments since Covid began and I miss them greatly. Nothing seems to have restarted in my area (Ontario) which was previously rich in great events. This endeavour has inspired me to actively scout for events again and I will pass on anything that I find.
I just remembered that this is not true. I saw many of you at the Island Resort a couple of summers ago and hope to do so again sometime.
Hi Gronbog, I assume you are near Toronto area in Ontario, if not and close to Minnesota, there is one in Hinckley MN next Thursday and Friday.
Maybe all your efforts can somehow rejuvenate the market before 2026. I'm considering doing some US touring then, and that would be a nice way to string together some fun. I haven't played in roughly forever.
Hi Ken. It would be great to see you at some tournaments. It's been awhile,... We had a good $100,000 tournament series going last year, one that we were told was good for the property, but "circumstances" took away what looked like a repeat of another similar series this year. There is another one in the works at another property that is looking very good. It is based on a concept that I've been trying to get some attention to, which, if we can get a couple under our belt, we may be able to grow from. I'm pretty much dyed in the wool "Under promise and over deliver" person so this one is not ready to announce yet - I can say though, that there is a "chance" that it could have as early as an October date for a first event, should everything get approved. You've been a great help in keeping tournaments alive over many years and I'm sure you'd have to get some personal satisfaction to see the opportunities return. I can tell you that, according to the BJTUSA.com site hits and other statistics player interest is growing. I'm grateful to blackjacktournaments.com management for agreeing to put our BJTUSA Connect! room into their site - They even gave us a great location just under their Blackjack topic header. It is my hope that we can get chatter going again on that forum. There are many subscribers to BJTUSA that are not members of blackjacktournaments.com and vice-versa. We're encouraging everyone to get on both and help us, by the power of participation, provide tournament opportunities. There is a wealth of knowledge on both sites that could help inspire others to join in and enjoy the game with us, as well as to help everyone who already plays to hone their skills. And, we've got Gronbog on board here at BJTUSA now... Welcome Gronbog! You were the first to come over as a new BJTUSA subscriber - We thank you and appreciate your support,... along with Lakegirl32, George, JohnR, Trouble, Moses, Dakota, AZSKY, Ewok, BillyC, and Noman, and Meghan, (Hope I didn't leave anyone out), all who were subscribers at BJTUSA before and have made commentary contributions to this site since we announced it a couple of weeks ago. What a crowd, ehh?? We have pretty lofty goals, but our endeavors will hopefully be guided within reason. Although, one fairly new subscriber to BJTUSA and I have just wondered out loud how nice it would be to bring back something that rivals what the World Series of Blackjack at one time was! Time will tell, as it always has.
Excited to hear more about this October one! We are ready to book flight to Live! tournament in October if this one does not happen. Thanks for your work PitchMan
