WSOB at Lucky Eagle, WA

[darklord]

I called in earlier today to sign up for the WSOB tournament held at Lucky Eagle casino on the 8th , but it's full. This is my first time attempting to enter a major tournament such as this, so I don't know how soon I should sign up. In the future, how soon should I sign up for this type of tournament? Typically, how many people are in this type of tournament?

Lucky Eagle WSOB qualifier

darklord,

You may be money ahead the WSOB qualifier at Lucky Eagle was full. It is an accumulation format with 84 participants each week for 4 weeks, 6 advancing each week to the finals. The kicker is; the 24 qualifying finalists that paid an entry fee will be joined at the final tables by 60 VIP invited quests that did not have to qualify to be in the finals. An 84 participant accumulation format is very tough to win since luck is normally the determing factor, the last 2 accumulation tournaments I played have been won by 1st time VIP invitee's and one even asked during play if they could halt the game so he could use the men's room. I suggest you check either Tulsa or Tucson, both are superior games for a skilled player. Tucson is also an accumulation format but only players that qualify advance to the finals and they have only been averaging 18 - 20 players per week with 2 advancing each week.
