Whaat'a your take on splitting 9's in regular play?

It's a pretty straightforward basic strategy play. Split 9s, unless the dealer has a 7,Ten, or Ace up.
If you count cards, there are some opportunities to vary based on the count, meaning you can sometimes stand instead of split, and sometimes split instead of stand. All those index numbers are highly dependent on the rules in play.
Tammie, hope all is well and you’re still having some good luck. I retired about 18 months ago and was looking for a copy of the 2008 Split DVD from the finals and my qualifying round I think was July. Any ideas on anyone that had the whole season? Billy Four Winds Casino 20K tournament on Sunday March 30. 100 buy in. Just found out may not be able to go to this one, hard to get work off short notice. ALso Grand Casino Hinckley is having 2 small tournaments in April. One Thursday April 3 registration starts at noon and one on Sunday April 13, they do not have anything posted on website so not published very well.

Thanks Ann, but I'm still in Vegas and that prevents my attendance at any of these events.
Golden Nugget Nov 2,3. the final one player and I were tied for 1st we had a 5 hand playoff, final hand I had an $800 chip lead I bet $300 and the other player bet $1000. me16 but the other player received Blackjack. The dealer showed an Ace. other player took $500 of insurance. dealer had Blackjack the other player was paid 2 to 1 on his insurance bet or $1000. My question was the hand paid correctly?

Yes, it sounds like the payout was correct. His $500 insurance bet was a winner, so he received $1000 for that at 2:1. His original $1000 bet was a push, so the dealer should not have collected his original wager, leaving it in the circle. Net gain: $1000.
Made the final table for the second time at the Golden Nugget $100,000 Blackjack tournament we chopped $14,425 each
Ken, I have both your Ebooks How to win more Black Jack tournaments. My friend thinks he had a paper copy of the first one. Was some of them printed on paper?
Thank you
John Nelson.

@johnr I made exactly one printed copy, for my friend Richard Rockwell who was such an inspiration to my early tournament efforts.
I know that a few people have gotten copies printed themselves, but there was never a paid copy for sale.
Greetings Leftnut. Bryan (Uncle Abe) here. What a tournament! I got to know the doc pretty well. Asked him the next day about his apparent blunder on the last hand. He replied that he was so exhausted, he couldn't think straight. Tammie took full advantage. I never advanced from semi-final, but wife is still driving the Mercedes. Hope this finds you doing well.
Hey Ken,I have been invited to a private tournament that's being held this weekend. It is a very unique tournament in that it's a Tri-Table Tournament. (One round of Blackjack, Baccarat, and Roulette.)How can I copy and paste the tournament rules here or attach a PDF of the tournament rules? I simply wanted to ask what your opinion or take is on how I should best approach this tournament strategy wise.

I recommend posting a thread on the forum about this. You can attach a pdf of a photo there, and will have the benefit of more people weighing in. The optimal strategy will heavily depend on how the rounds are used. If it's a cumulative chip count, that's quite different than other ways of structuring this event.
No tournaments at Iron Horse Casino, They've been closed up for awhile now and doubtful they will ever reopen. They were in trouble even before the pandemic. Here in Washington State, we've gone in a few short years from more tournaments than you could shake a stick at to none at all or close to it. I used to be able to play nine tournaments a week. Now I sit on my hands and reminisce about better days.

Sorry to hear that. That seems to be the trend everywhere. I’m afraid the pandemic might be the last straw. I’ll mark the iron horse as closed and cancel the event listings.
