Tournament will be single advance, all tables, all rounds. Bankroll is $200, with $5 min bet and no max bet. No button, all play starts with 1st base and goes around, no betting order except on final hand. 15 hands total each table. This is at the Quechan Resort (Q-Resort) at the Los Algodones Exit off of I-8 about 10 miles west of Yuma. Play starts at 6:00 PM Arizona time. This is 5:00 California time. Register at Q-Resort starting the Monday before the tournament. This is the first one they have held at this location, but will be like the ones held previously at Paradise Casinos. This is the first tournament they have held in over a year (previously held at Paradise Casinos). In past entries have varied greatly, from a low of less than 40 in the summers, to well over 100 in the winter months (record attendence is 148 players). Difference is the 100,000 snow birds that descend on Yuma in the winter. They are holding this on a Wednesday, which is also the day that Seniors get $10 free play on, so they are targeting the snow birds, and should get a good turn out. The tournaments at Paradise were not well run; no button, no order to betting except on final hand, play always starts from 1st base, final hand as well; tournament not well policed, some players holding/hiding chips (minor problem), players trying to change bets, players holding out and not betting until everyone else has bet, etc. - dealers not familiar with tournament rules or not enforcing them, some times dealers hassle about slow play, sometimes they let a player take forever, even at same table. Hopefully, they will run tournaments at Q-Resort better, but, I somehow doubt it.
Prizes:
- Prize Pool:
- $ 5,000.00
- 1st Place:
- $ 2,500.00
Probably similar to, same as, tournaments held previously at Paradise Casinos. This is the first one in over a year, and first at Q-Resort. When tournaments were held at Paradise, 1st paid 50% of prize pool. Then downwards from there. Six or seven persons at final table, depending on entries. Lots of opportunities for rebuys, possibly some wild cards to final table, depending on entries. They have always paid off the announced prize pool, regardless of entries.
