Not sure if the $500 seat can be purchased in advance or just on the day of the finale. If an advance seat can be purchased with a credit card, the charge will go through immediately and lost if you do not play. They had room for 280 players but less than 100 participated with only a few paying the full $500 entry fee and even fewer doing a rebuy. Rebuys were poor because many thought the prize pool would be reduced due to the poor attendance, not realizing that the prize pool is guaranteed.
