Changed phone number (800-746-2486 to 800-746-2486 ext. 2505).
Added details (The winner of each of 3 satellites wins a seat into GSN's
World Series of Blackjack.
Registration will open Dec. 10,2005, at the conclusion of
their monthly tournament on that date --- register in
person on that date. After Dec. 10, 2005, register by
phone - ext. 2505 from 9:00am to 6:00pm (central time).
Registration will end when all 3 satellites are full. You
will probably need a player card to enter.
On the day of each satellite, seat assignments for round 1
will start at 9:00am. Play will begin at 12:00.
Although rebuys are possible, if a satellite tournament is
full, and they expect it to be, there will be no rebuys.
No wild cards - you must win your way into the WSOB.
Maximum of 126 players per satellite.
Three (3) rounds will be played in each satellite:
Round 1 - 6 players per table, 2 advance per table.
Round 2 - 6 players per table, 1 advance per table
Round 3 (Final) - 7 players
It's possible that TV crews will be filming some of the
action.
All their literature also says a copy of your social
security card is required to collect prize money. This is
standard for all tournaments at the HO-CHUNK.).
Added prize details (This tournament is top heavy with poor equity.
Their literature says the seat in the WSOB is worth
$50,000 but read EQUITY below. True, the winner gets a
seat in the WSOB (only 40 seats to be awarded nationwide),
VIP treatment during week of the shoot, free hotel and
meals, but no cash. Don't know about air fair.
As for EQUITY (and this is the kicker):
$50,400 will be paid in entry fees for each satellite. Out
of that, $25,000 goes into the $1,000,000 prize pool for
the WSOB. The remaining $25,400 goes to "production
costs" - this according to information I got from talking
to the HO-CHUNK tournament people. Yes, the players are
paying part of the production costs and thus increasing
profits of the promotors!).
