As I feared, lower participation is making 50k purse go away. We ALL need to make concerted efforts to attend next year's events (starting in April) or the best event in the nation could be in jeopardy.

I will try to get friends to come, will even try to get my chauffeur to play. I will offer to pay her entries.

Another option is to reduce the purse but increase the frequency. They already have 10K tournaments 3 times a year and that 50 k tournament 3 times a year. So, combining both could make a 30k tournament 5-6 times a year. Something to think about.

I just now logged on for the first time since getting back from the tournament. Please add my congratulations to all those who made the final table, no matter in what order you finished!!!!

Attendance was down but the consensus of so many in attendance is that this is still near the top of the list of overall most desirable Blackjack tournaments. There were several new faces there but unfortunately quite a few veteran attendees were not able to be there for various reasons. Hopefully the attendance will spring back in April. If players continue to support this event in proportion to the efforts that Cindy has put into it, as has her crew, from her right hand Kim, to the dealers and staff on the casino floor, all the way to the kitchen and Chris, the superb Chef, it will surely be here for us to write down on our "don't miss this one" calendar and always look forward to the next one to come around.

As one of so many of us who are always looking for quality Blackjack events, I want to thank Cindy for recognizing the void in such events in this part of the Country and so quickly establishing it from scratch just over two years ago. And, if I was a betting man, I'd wager that there are several others who recognize and appreciate the support by so many players who have responded with their loyal support.

Also when we talk about the tournaments I let players know that the double deck blackjack is tops with good rules and great dealers.

I think 3 a year with 40-50k purse is right numbers for these reasons. "Locals" aren't playing the events that we do. They play the 10k events that you mentioned. Majority of us that play the bigger purse events are traveling large distances and see bigger purses as the main incentive to do so.
For instance, at least two entrants were from California, Minnesota (minimum distance of 650 miles) quite possibly had the largest contingent of players of any state. WI, MI and OH typically have several. Most of you southern state people also drive a good distance from different parts of Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, etc.
Those distances would prevent me (and some others, I think) from doing more than 3 or 4 at even 30k purse.
This is only my opinion and I'm glad that you shared your thoughts, too.
