Well part of me is glad that they are finally being pro-active and reaching out to their prospective customers. I've seen the new set of promotions starting December 15 and once again a good start.

What I really want for Christmas is a big honking $20,000 plus tourney!

To the freerolls - bah humbug

It's that time of year again, time for family and friends, fun and games and for showing your loved ones you care by giving them wrapped tokens of your affection. But what if one of your loved ones is a budding Elimination Blackjack master? Shouldn't you support their dream by giving them something that could help them achieve it? Don't know where to start? Let PlayUBT.com and Team UBT help you.

Poker pro Annie Duke suggests starting with the basics.

A high-quality poker set is a must for any poker player. By high quality I mean plastic cards—not plastic-coated!—and 11.5 gm chips. There is nothing worse than playing with crappy paper cards and plastic chips. For something more extravagant, I suggest a felt table.

Copag 1546 Blue/Red Poker 2SI Playing Cards
$14.99
These are one example of a set of playing cards that meets Annie Duke's standards. The set consists of two decks of 100% plastic cards—one with blue backs and the other with red backs—in the classic 1546 design. Each deck has 54 poker-size cards with standard indeces, packaged in a deluxe plastic case that holds both decks.

Copag supplied the playing cards used in the 2005 and 2006 World Series of Poker, so you know you're getting the best.

50 Clay Dice 11.5g Casino Poker Chips Bundle
$4.95
Playing Elimination Blackjack well means knowing how to count your opponent's chips at a glance. The best way to learn how to do this is to practice, practice, practice, preferably with casino-quality poker chips.

Clay poker chips are the closest you will find to real casino poker chips. They are heavier than the standard plastic, play-at-home poker chips and provide a better tactile experience. When you shuffle them, they make the same sound as casino chips—that sound you love so much. These particular poker chips are dice-style, with attractive stripes on the edges. Buy different colors and assign your own numeric values. For a game of EBJ, we recommend a minimum of 20 chips per player (140 min. total).

Custom Poker Game Table
$5,000
For the serious (and seriously wealthy) player, we suggest a custom-made poker table, such as the Honduran Poker Game Table displayed here. It is a round, eight-player poker game table, approximately 61" in diameter with dining table and approximately 59" without the dining table top. This casino poker table is constructed of the finest hardwood with a Honduran Mahogany finish. Eight brass drink holders adorn the one of a kind hardwood chip ring perfectly milled to seat casino grade chips. A banding of decorative brass heads inlayed in a hardwood strip highlights the black cushioned armrest. The playing surface consists of a high-density cushion, covered in a plush green, velvet like fabric not used in casinos or mass-produced casino poker table designs. The dining tabletop, which fits securely over the game table, is beautifully finished and guaranteed not to warp. The hardwood pedestal elegantly compliments the artwork of the entire casino game table.

Tesla Roadster
$100,000
What goes from zero to 60 in 4 seconds, tops out at more than 130 m.p.h. and appears to be missing a gas tank? The Tesla Roadster 100. It's pure California: a hot sports car that doubles as a statement against pollution and oil dependence. Its massive lithium-ion-battery array can power it for up to 250 miles of highway travel, and even though it will fatten your electricity bill, the Roadster is still twice as efficient as a Toyota Prius.

To top it off, here's tournament blackjack pro Joe Pane's interpretation of holiday giving.

Around the holidays, in the spirit of giving, I make a point to stay out casinos. Especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I figure that by keeping my card-counting prowess to myself for a few days, I save the casinos lots of money. It's my way of giving back, because during the rest of the year I play Robin Hood: I take from the rich casinos and give to myself. It's a great system.

Happy shopping!
