Lets see, MMMmmm casinos to the east, north, west, and soon to our south!
That right Mexico will soon start having casino's is the latest word I heard.
So Texas will be surrounded by states and a country that offers casino gambling before long. Several years back Texas opened up a few casinos only to have the ones in El Paso shut down by "HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT" in 2001.
They were on an indain reservation and were only shut down when the (Management) and tribe signed away their rights and had to abide by Texas state laws (which includes no gambling).
The only casino still operating in Texas is the Kickapoo tribe, Lucky Eagle casino in Eagle Pass (south Texas).
That may all be changing within the several years. Yep! It is looking more and more like Texas may finally be getting casino's. That's right, Bible Belt Blackjack could soon be on it's way.
I have lived in Texas all my life and never thought "Legal" casinos would ever be allowed, but with Mexico putting them in I think it just becomes a matter of time. Don't be surprised if Texas doesn't legalize casino gambling within the next five years is my guess. This is based on Mexico putting in "legal" casino gambling.
