    Hi,
I absolutely love playing Blackjack but didn't realise until last night, when I came across a clip on youtube, that there were Blackjack tournaments. I think this is something that I would love to get involved in.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can get started on playing in tournaments, either here in the U.K or online? Thanks in advance for any pointers you can give me...

Welcome sparky! You've definitely come to right place if you want to learn about blackjack tournaments.

For getting started I suggest: https://www.blackjackinfo.com/blackjack-tournaments/. There is a lot of useful information there. If you still have questions, then the next step is so search the forums here. Pretty much every basic question has been asked and answered here somewhere. Still have questions? Then ask away. There are many experienced players here who are willing to help.

For books, I suggest Casino Tournament Strategy by Stanford Wong and, of course, both e-books by Ken Smith (the host of this site); How to Win More Blackjack Tournaments and How to Win Even More Blackjack Tournaments. You can get these at www.blackjackinfo.com

As for playing, unfortunately, there are very few medium to large events happening in the UK these days, although there were couple just recently. Perhaps they were successful enough to be repeated in the near future. There does appear to be a one small weekly event still active on our calendar: https://www.blackjacktournaments.com/tournaments/weekly-bj-tournameent.2653/

Check out this post for the latest info on online play: https://www.blackjacktournaments.co...-clubwpt-and-anywhere-online.8632/#post-49435, Unfortunately, the days of decent money in online tournaments are pretty much over. One additional place you can play is https://play.lasvegasadvisor.com

Once again, welcome, and good luck!

Sparky I think I have exactly what you want, and it is right in your back yard. There is a game, and an app called Pharaoh's Tomb Blackjack at www.yazino.com, and headquarters is located at Marketing Game Studio, Yazino Technologies LTD, 1 Lyric Square, London, W6 ONB, GBR. You will need to sign up in order to play on the site. The site has 2 main parts to choose from, once you are logged in. Tournament mode, and Play mode. When you select Tournament, you can choose up to 4 tournaments to sign up for. You are competing against other players to go on to the next round, just like you would in a blackjack tournament. They run at 15 minute intervals. Some will run simultaneously. You are allowed to switch back and forth between games. You might get eliminated from one game, then go back to the other game. It will take awhile to learn everything. The games run at 4 levels- 1K, 2.5k, 10k, and 50k buy ins. Chips are awarded from 9k to 100's k. Depends on how many play. There is also a weekly tournament that pays out 1 million chips to the over all winner, and various amounts to the next 20 players. The other way to accumilate chips is to go to play mode, where you play against the dealer, just like you would in a casino. You can choose to play 1 position, or all 5 if they are available. You either win or lose chips, because you are playing against the house. One other thing that is happening as you play, is you are acquiring points towards your player level. It takes awhile to move up to the next level. Biggest draw back to this site, is you lose connection constantly. You do a lot of logging off and logging on to get back to your spot. Can drive you crazy, and you usually lose your buy in. Because you are competing against other players, you will improve your blackjack skills greatly.
