Useful stats and tables

    I am a recreational player with a strong basic game and some tourney play. Can you recommend a couple of good books to read to strengthen my tourney play?

    It would be hard for Ken not to recommend is own books on his own site http://www.blackjackinfo.com/ that being said Stanford Wong's "Casino Tournament Strategy" has been around since the early 90's and is probably the most comprehensive book on tournament play.

    I was hoping to find information about Wong's Table 6, Strong Form of Curt's Revenge. I screwed up my earlier post and should have edited before posting. Hopefully, it wasn't read by anyone. Whatever; this is a revision.

    In the Table under Pairs to Be Split, Does 1 mean Ace? I have never seen him use anything but A or A-A or Ace to mean ace.

    He notes that "if it looks like BR1 will win, then you must double or split. For clarification, against a dealer 10 and BR1 19; the chart is indicating DD 9,10,11; split 10-10, A-A; this leaves 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, 9-9. I take it to mean stand or hit 2s-3s-4s to any stiff and stand if you are lucky enough to get something better. (So, with 2-2 catch a 7 and hit a ten for 21.) Double 5s. Stand on 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s. Is that correct?

    I was confused about "all". This means split 2-2 through 10-10 except 4-4 or 5-5, DD H19 or lower if it's not a pair.

    He defines "all" to mean "double all hands or split all pairs except double down on 4-4 and 5-5." This means double down on 21/natural (if allowed and if not already paying 2-1) against a BR1 21 no matter the BR2 non-paired hand total? So, I am to DD 21/natural if allowed?

    I was trying to sleep and realized my earlier post this afternoon was jibberish. Please let me know what I'm missing. If need be, I will rewrite this again tomorrow. Thanks.
