A number of you have asked me about what attire you should bring for the upcoming World Series of Blackjack Satellites. These events will be taped but will not have a huge presence on the World Series of Blackjack. Still, you might be on TV so you will want to look nice. And tournament rules dictate that players cannot wear logos of any kind.
Should you win a seat in World Series of Blackjack IV, get ready to be part of a great event...and we want you to look the part! Our wardrobe people send me this:
This is a helpful note to help you look like the gorgeous people that you
are!
As you know, you will be on camera and we want you to look your best. Please
dress in your best clothes .things that you would wear to a party or a nice
event.
For example..the men should wear dark colored slacks: black, grey, or brown
with solid colored button down shirts. We would love to see you in a suit,
but a shirt, tie and slacks would be great. Please wear dark dress shoes, no
tennis shoes, jeans or logos!
The women..should be in solid bright colored dresses or two piece suits.
Nice blouses or tops in blues, pinks, purples, red's, sparkles, anything
pretty and flattering on you. Solid colored pants or skirts are the most
flattering on tv. A nice blouse, black slacks and black heals would be
great! Again like you are dressing up for an event.
Please no small stripes, patterns, solid whites, anything with a logo on it,
work out clothes, tennis shoes.or anything that does not look dressy.
I would also like to include that hats and sunglasses are not allowed. The same is true for disguises...we want you to look like you!
I also had a couple of questions regarding what ID you'll need. We suggest that you bring 2 forms of ID...a driver's license or government issued ID card and either a passport or a Social Security card or paycheck stub with your Social Security number printed on it. You WILL receive a 1099 form and be required to pay taxes on World Series of Blackjack winnings. This information is required by GSN for tax purposes and will not be shared with the Hilton or any other entity.
And finally, should you qualify for the World Series of Blackjack and you are an out-of-towner, your room at the Hilton will be comped from January 25 through January 30. However, you will need to put a credit card on your room for incidentals.
I've received many messages from players who want in but have been shut out. Keep checking with the Hilton...there may be cancellations. And there will likely be some entries available in the $1025 events on January 24.
Good luck to everyone!
