    Hey Billy,

I appreciate the generous offer to swing East through Chicago, but since I'll be leaving on my biz/vacation trip two days later, I'm going to have to pass.
I'm bummed as I want to start making these tourneys, just can't afford the time.
Good luck to you all and I'll hopefully catch you next time.

    Thanks Billy! Tim

  4. We are getting close! I hope to see a lot of you here this weekend for the tournament!!

I have already set the dates for the winter and spring tournaments.....January 8/9 and April 16/17th. If you don't get to make it this weekend, put us on your calendar for the one in January! :)

    Buffalo Run Report

This was my first time at this casino, located in NE Oklahoma, about 90 miles east of Tulsa, along I-44. Cindy, who has a lot of casino experience, working for Binion's in LV and Tunica, ran a very good tournament. Saturday there were five preliminary rounds, with re-buys available for each. The tournament was held in a large banquet room apart from the casino, reminiscent of the set-up at Meskwaki. There were less entrants than expected, so almost everyone who played on Saturday either qualified or was drawn into the quarterfinals on Sunday. There were some wild scores in the quarters and semis, with Monkey System running his $2,000 bankroll into $16,000, but losing by about $500 to an opponent who absolutely could not lose a hand. I understand that BJT member Moses (who I have not had the chance to meet) won the tournament, and was the only one of us at the final table. Other observations on the tournament; Cindy arranged to feed the entrants well, with a nice breakfast
and dinner on Saturday, and a box lunch on Sunday. The casino had overall ok conditions with double deck blackjack with decent rules and penetration, and 9-6 JOB video poker available at all denominations. the casino staff were all very friendly, and I will definitely go back. Buffalo Run is scheduled to have $30,000 tournaments in January and April. I will check to make sure these get posted.

Ditto to everything Jonny21 said. I'd also like to add that I've never seen a tournament director quite like Cindy, who seeks out feedback from the players more than any other I've seen. She's interested in continuous improvement, and asks players for ideas to do just that. The casino staff went our of their way to accommodate tournament players. I'll definitely be back, and would encourage everyone here to play this tournament in the future. Those of us still mourning the loss of the Kewadin tournaments now have a very attractive alternative.

    Great job Cindy!

I surely concur with you guys. Anyone planning future events should put this one at the TOP of their list. You'll not find a more ambitious tournament director anywhere than Cindy. The next event has a 20% increase in guaranteed purse and she indicates a desire to keep growing the purse even more in the near future.
Great job girl! (also well done by Kim, your dealers and the food preparers)
Lastly, congratulations to our Moses for winning 1st place. Always a pleasure to see nice people win.

Ditto.....great event! Glad we took the trip from Toledo, Ohio to make this event. Plan to try and make as many as possible next year too.

Thanks Cindy for your efforts and personalized service and greetings. Also thanks to all the staff both during the event and throughout the rest of the facilities, very good experience.

You're already there, Cindy. Keep "growing" the purse and do a couple small rules tweaks and it's as close to perfection as possible.
