Carnival Cruise Line - October 31st, we will be deporting San Diego on an 8 night Mexican Riviera Multi-Blackjack Tournament Cruise!

It will include three major tournaments and several mini's.

The cruise itinerary:

Prices will vary based on cabin selection starting at $830.00 per person for an inside cabin (all port and government taxes and fees, and gratuities included in that price). That price along with the ones below are based on availability and as in all cruises prices are subject to change (without deposit).

Other cabin options: Also based on double occupancy.

Ocean view: $980.00 per person

Balcony: $1,160.00 per person

Suite: $1,960.00 per person

3rd & 4th guest prices available on request and subject to availability.


Payment Schedule:

$100 deposit per person will be required by February 18, 2005.

1/2 balance due 150 days prior to sailing (due 5/4/2005)

Final payment due 75 days prior to sailing (due 7/13/2005)

Kevin Blackwood will be handling all the bookings for this cruise. Kevin is a licensed Travel agent. I will have him post where to send deposit.

*We will be holding special satellite tournaments with Global-Player online casino so players can win their cruise starting in February. We will keep you posted on this site when the events will be held.

Cruise tournament entry fees will be $350 per tournament, But if paid in full by October 1st, 2005 fees will be discounted to $300 per tournament ($150.00 savings).

I need a couple of questions answered.
1.How many tourneys will you be having?
2.Will there be satalites on board for entry to main tourneys?
3.Are you a licensed travel agent since you are booking the trip? ( I ask this since I booked a poker cruise thru The Amature Poker League, sent them a $250 deposit and they never sent the money to the Cruise Line, they insisted on a check would not take credit cards so we all lost our deposits) No recourse unless I wanted to file in small claims court in Kansas.
4. Do you accept credit cards?
5. Why are your prices $200-300 higher than Carnival's prices for the same berths? I am sure I will want more info but this is all I can think of at this time.
 
Another cruise question

Thanks for putting this awesome event together, TX. If I remit soon (to guarantee a reservation), would the $ be refunded if I qualified via a Global satellite tourney?

To start with the ship we are taking is the SPRIT!

Pokernut questions:

1. I have 3 major tournaments scheduled for on board the cruise. Mini-tournaments will be based on how many players want to play and when.

2. No satellites planned at this time. What tournaments would they be for?

3. No I am not a travel agent, but Kevin Blackwood is and he is the one who will be booking all the passage for the players. Please note these tournaments are not open to everyone on board the ship, only players book with through our group are allowed to play in them.

4. Kevin is handling the booking, I believe he is accepting them.

5. I am going through Carnivals group sales office and have added all port charges, goverment taxes and fees, gratuities, cost for dealers, tables and tournament supplies in to the prices I posted. If you can show me where you found this same cruise for $200 to $300 cheaper please post it on this site and I will book the cruise through them.

Pokernut please do post a link to where you saw these cheaper prices I am sure everyone would like to see them not just me, Thanks.

Now for Snappers question:

Yes everyone that send in a deposit and later wins one of Global-Players satellite events will get their deposits back or may use them to upgrade ($50 net service fee for changes, charged by Carnival).

NOTE: The first time anyone wins one of Global-Players satellites cruise their is no option of taking cash instead. All other cruise wins you can take the cash option.

Carnival cancellation policy:
$300 per person made within75-30 days of sailing.
50% of total fare per person made within 29-8 days of sailing.
100% of total fare per person made within 7 days of sailing.

Cash direct to the cruise line?

Is there no way that we can have the cruise line handle this process of collecting the deposits and payments? I think you're going to have significant skepticism over mailing money off to you. If you get 300 participants, we're talking about some serious cash.

Calling Carnival will get you in contact with Kevin Blackwood.
Kevin is going to handle the bookings so I will get with him over where to send the deposits. He is a licensed travel agent.

And he will be taking credit cards, (I post no at first).

I also am going to just collect the tournament entry fees on board.
Discount for paying for all of them the first night at registration.
 
A step in the right direction

Perhaps Kevin Blackwood can post more here about how exactly this process will work. Particularly in the travel business, there's so much fraud in the world and on the Internet, people are understandably skeptical of anything unknown. Just keep that in mind whenever decisions are being made.

Safety of deposits and funds

Just wanted to clarify the cruise arrangements. Rick Jensen misunderstood me on one point. I used to own a travel agency, but no longer do. Nor am I currently an agent.

However, the plan will be to hook up with an established larger agency. That will give us access to the best possible prices in the business and they also will hold all the funds. They will be set up to take credit cards, etc.

I hope to have all these details worked out in the very near future, but I can assure you that once it is set up, your money and cabin berth will be in safe hands. We are lining up some very big names to give seminars for this and future cruises. Stanford Wong, Anthony Curtis, Henry Tamburin, Max Rubin, and the MIT whiz kids have all expressed interest in joining the boat on this project.

Yes, but!

The price you see for $619.00 is without all the taxes and fees, gratuities, cost for dealers, tables and tournament supplies in to the prices I posted.

This is my first cruise and I thought $619.00 was the price also until I found out about all the extras. This is why I posted the full prices, I didn't want any hidden cost or surprizes when players got aboard the ship.

I also am letting the players book their own way to San Diego, I was told they could do lots cheaper themselves.

No problem, like I told everyone if you have a question or concern just post it here and I will answer it. I want this to be a regular event, but from different ports each year (maybe twice a year).

Everybody says they want newer, bigger, and better tournaments, I am doing my part to get them. Now it is up to the players to support them.
One other note: No one is barred from my events.

What is the single supplement?

Also, to clarify, what will the first-place prize in GP satellites cover? Just the the entry fees to the three tournaments? Both the entry fees to the three tournaments and the cabin? Some other combo?
 
First satellite set

The satellites will cover passage for two on the cruise only.

This is a inside cabin, all taxes, port charges, goverment fees, dealers cost, table and supplies, and gratuities.

As far as your cruise your covered except for getting there and anything you purchase while on board.

The entry fees are NOT included in the prize.

First satellite is set for Wed. 2nd, at 8:00 PM est. (see online tournaments for more details)
 
there is a casino cruise tournament in florida

I got an upcoming events calendar form majesty I casino that sails out of st johns pass in madeira beach for a blackjack tourney on February 2nd on the 7pm evening cruise. I know that this is the first one they have put together, but they have not given any info other than the date and time. I was told they would have everything about it by the end of the week. I don't imagine it being to big of a turnout as their is only 8 BJ tables i believe and its on a wednsday. If you are going to be in the tampa/stpetersburg area I would definitely check it out because their would be very little competition as the majority of the players I have seen are beginners with no knowledge of how to play BJ, let alone tournaments, so this one could be a steal. Their number is 1-888-551-play. I have only been playing BJ for a little over ayear myself, but have played in the last two tournaments at Ballys in Tunica and one at the Grand over the summer in MS.
 
Corrections

The travel agency handling the bookings for me made several mistakes on the site posted.

Please note that each round will consist of 20 hands not 10 as list on the site and the prize will be based on number of entries and re-buys, 100% of both will be returned as prize money.

And with a full 300 players the prize money will look more like this, hopefully more:

Finalist:

1st...............$50,000
2nd...............$25,000
3rd...............$12,500
4th...............$ 7,500
5th...............$ 5,000
6th...............$ 3,000

Semifinalist:

7th - 18th..............$1,000 each

I also want to bring back $10 partners and $10 team play side pots.

Example:

Player A partners up with player B, they each put $10 in the prize pool.
Each player may have up to three partners at $10 for each one.
The partners who have the highest combine total for the first round (first round only re-buys don't count) win.

We take 10% upto $500 for cost and then payout:

Possible payouts with 150 players 300 players
(after 10%)
1st.........50% $2,025.00 $4,250.00
2nd.........30% $1,215.00 $2,550.00
3rd..........20% $ 810.00 $1,700.00

Not bad prizes for max. of $30 to be with three partners.
All prize money paid before start of third round.

The same is done for team player, three players (A,B,& C), (A,B & D), A,B & E). As long as one player is different it makes a new team.

Same payouts as partners.
