Most Users Ever Online

According to the statistics quoted near the bottom of the forum listings, the most users ever online was 225, April 4th, 2008 at 12:10 AM.

Just curious. Is this statistic actually true or is it the result of some glitch in the forum management software? If true, does anyone know what was the occasion or reason for such high volume that day?

The most users I have ever seen online at one time is less than 10!

I checked Google Analytics for an overview of traffic that day.
Nothing looks unusual, and the site volume was very typical.
I'm assuming this was some group of automated web spiders that vBulletin doesn't know to filter out.

A more realistic guess at most users ever online here simultaneously is probably 40 or so.

"Most users ever online was 262, June 29th, 2007 at 09:13 AM."
That's quite possibly accurate. We commonly run triple digit visitor counts there.

I believe that 225 on that particular date may be true. That was right at the beginning of the huge Winstar $2.5M BJT series and this site was hummin' then.
