I was given permission by Anthony Curtis to repost this information provided to him by the parties involved in the cancelled Ultimate Blackjack Tour Tournament of Champions at Barona Casino:

UBT's statement:

To all who are affected and to those who have supported the Ultimate Blackjack Tour, we regret the postponement of the Barona Tournament of Champions event. We thank you all for your support and ask that you watch for forthcoming announcements about the tour schedule and tour changes (including new venues and lower buy-ins) going into 2008, as well as exciting news about ClubUBT.com. Those of you who've won seats to the Barona Tournament of Champions or made a personal deposit will be contacted individually to get what is owed to you paid promptly. We apologize to all for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused.

Barona's statement:

The Ultimate Blackjack tour postponed the Tournament of Champions and other scheduled UBT qualifying events at Barona Valley Ranch for the remainder of 2007.

In place of these postponed tournaments, Barona will honor their commitment for all scheduled events, with the same prize structures, by offering non-UBT related invitation-only blackjack tournaments.

These tournaments are exclusive to pre-qualified guests by invitation only and no buy-in entries will be accepted. Please contact your Barona host regarding qualifying criteria.

Its none of my business but Im interested. For those pre paying the 10 grand, why did you pay in advance? Why didnt you wait until the event?

Also, in the UBT comments it sounds like UBT will be paying back the funds. Is this true? Or are the funds at Barona in a UBT account and Barona will be cutting checks? Im guessing the qualifier money is managed the same way but its such a small amount compared to the 10 grand.......

Pre-paid entry fees for TOC were sent directly to UBT, so they'll be doing the refunds. Why were they sent by me and others? As a show of support for what UBT was doing.
