Discuss the $150,000 Blackjack Tournament event at Paris in Las Vegas, NV.
thanks for the postingsThanks surf for posting this tournament. We don't get many tournaments posted for Vegas casinos. I am a VP player so I do not get mailings from Harrah and MLife properties on BJTs. I get all kinds of mailings on Slot tournaments and drawings. I don't go to Vegas so don't have hosts at their casinos. Invitational or not if I know a tournament exists I might finagle an entry if the mood hits me. I try to post all the Beau Rivage tournaments, invitational or not, because I go there and get mailings. Other people like me will go to invitational tournaments if they know they exists.
I was invited to last years tourney, whice I couldn't make but have a heck of a time getting an invite to this years tournt which I can attend! I am staying at Harrahs during tghe prescribed time of event, and would love to attend. My casino in Blackhawk Colorado will support my play and credentials! The Ameristar Casino would hol;d its head high against any Vegas Casino, they have exemplary customer service and a spotless appearance. Please help me to get that invite>> J.P. at Ameristar, executive host of Ameristar is a stellar staff member that will vouch for my "wortiness". enough said, Thank YouThanks surf for posting this tournament. Over the past few months there seems to be quite a bit of confusion regarding the Paris Las Vegas $150,000 blackjack tournaments. Let me clarify, because they're not as bad as may seem.
(1) Yes, there are 800-1000 entrants, but the only bottleneck is the first round. Only 1 of 6 advances (but there are $100 re-buys). Sessions run all day. Make it past here and it gets much easier. All subsequent rounds (below) are on Sunday.
(2) In Round Two , 3 of 6 advance.
(3) In Round Three, 3 of 6 advance (sometimes 2 of 5)
From here on all non-advancers get $2000 (places 7-84)
(4) 84 players make the Quarter-Finals... 14 tables with 6 each... with 3 per table advancing.
(5) 42 players make the Semi-Finals... 6 tables with 7 each... with 1 per table advancing to the Final table.
So, yes, there is an extra round before the quarter-final, but after that, the deep pay of $2000 makes it worthwhile. The quality of players is average. When I played in the most recent tournament I made the semi-finals, and then out, and won $2000. I would have received the same amount for just making the quarter-finals. Final table prize structure is $25,000/15,000/10,000/8,000/5,000/3,000. All prizes are PUL (good) table play or slot/vp freeplay.
I don't play in the $75,000 tournaments because there are the same number of entrants, but re-buys are still $100 and places 7 through 84 only get $750.
