Nostalgic for the LV Hilton Million Dollar Tournaments?

[KenSmith]

Yes, the title was a bit of a tease.
I'm cleaning out my supply of odds and ends, and have 5 of the MDBJ2 caps for sale on eBay.

There is a good article published by Henry at this link about an interview with Sammy Vaughn the first million dollar winner. Really miss those too.

Sam did win it once but he wasn't the first one.

I think the article said he won the first tournament, but you are probably right, there may have been other millionaires made prior to the LVH tournaments. Obviously he played skillfully but he did get lucky at the right time too.

Looks like Henry Tamburin got this one wrong in his article. The first LVH MDBJT winner was Lucky Eddie Rhodes, whose prior wins were already legendary.

Good luck on selling the hats Ken. I already have two and at least one t-shirt from those tournys.

They're looking more like the donate pile.
