I was just contacted to have the TBJPA run a $100,000 GUARANTEED prize pool tournament series up in Oklahoma.

Once everything is finalized I will post the dates and location.

I can tell you that they are taking about late February or early March for the event. Before I commit I want to checkout the tournament event calendar for any conflicts before set the dates.

We all will have our generous economic stimulus tax rebates coming to us in May - So - how about a "Rebate Tourney"? - set the buy-in at 1/2 the rebate - with rebuys at 1/2 the buy-in - and our rebates will cover the buy-in and two rebuys - only have to come up with the TBJPA and Casino fees - and travel

I am working on something BIG for all of us, but only with the full support of the casino. If this event doesn't work then you can stick a fork in the future of blackjack tournaments.

If I can pull this off, all the monthly and championship prize money will be GUARANTEED by the casino.

Joep, Norm S., John R., and one other (didn't wanted they name mentioned) were the only locals to come play.

We only had 28 players to show up and play (after talking to players at the LVH we were expecting in the high 60's to mid 70's), and 25 re-buys, for a grand total of $12,150 prize pool. With 70 players this event would have been well over a $30,000 prize fund.

The change will only be made if a TBJPA/TBT event has less than fifty entries, in which case the semi-finalist payouts will be cut and that percentage will be evenly distributed between the finalists.

Awarding semifinalists with less than fifty entries just dilutes both the finalist and...

1st - Every player that is staying at the Tropicana during November 13th - 15th will get an extra $15 off of each of the casino events fees (an extra $30savings), if booked before November 1st, 2007. So the entries will be $300 + only $15 for each TBT event.
*Note: this is besides the $60 per night rate the TBJPA already has and is only for players staying at the Tropicana during the TBJPA events. Tropicana room...

I like the proposal that the $40 weekend fee be replaced with an increased vig for each event. By adding $10-$15 to the entry fee rake per event, two things would be accomplished.

1) It eliminates a confusing "extra" fee, by consolidating it into one number per tournament.

2) It allows players who are able to attend only one day to pay a reasonable fee for just that day....

The problem I see up in Washington is they offer so many $25 buy-in tournaments every day (sometimes multiple times per day) and all with a guaranteed $1,000 + 1st place with at least 12 players.

The players up here also don't understand the spread on the...
