I am looking to host a BJ tournamet here at my casino, and would like to know
what makes a great tournament, in the minds of Tournament Players.

Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcome.

What format would be best?
What buy in would be best?
number of hands?
prize pool?
dates?
number of rounds?

It seems every time I play at the Hard Rock Biloxi there are always players trying to hide chip behind glasses and not stacking their chips by color. I will sometimes wait until the dealer asks for my bet and reply with something like I will make my bet as soon as the player at third base lets me see all of his/he chip. :rolleyes: Does this ever happen to anyone? If so, what if anything do you say?

Personally I have tried most everything I can think of to help promote tournament blackjack events, even going as far as offering to help with the events at no pay if the tournaments were not successful.

Until we can get higher management involved with the tournaments...

I've also been hearing about several second chance/re-buys where if you don't advance from round I you simply pay an additional entry an you automaticly advance....

My idea is simple, have the casino charge a $10 deposit for a guaranteed re-buy! If you end up needing the re-buy you simply pay the differance and if not you forfeit the $10 to the casino (like buying re-buy insurance).

So far I haven't had one player up-set with the $10 deposit fee....

With my new format I am trying to eliminate prize pools being cut down due to low player turnouts. By simply allowing players the opportunity to have multiple entries (two that is), you may cut the required field for a 144 entry tournament down to as low as only 72 players.
